A society by and for trans*, nonbinary and gender non-conforming students at Warwick. Student-led and student-focused, but staff are always welcome!

Warwick Trans* Society (you can also call us Trans* Soc or T* Soc!) aim to provide community, offer support, run educational events, and campaign for Trans* rights everywhere!
We are for anyone who considers themselves to be in any way under the Trans* umbrella, including those who are unsure, undecided, questioning, and friends and allies are of course welcome to our events unless specified otherwise!
Providing Community: We have a WhatsApp Community and Discord server for you to join, where you can chat with members, share memes, get advice, and more!
Please note: the WhatsApp bots are getting smarter and smarter, so we may accidently get too over-zealous and reject a real person trying to join the group chat! If that is you, please just let us know (message, email, etc) and we'll get you added in!
We also run plenty of social events, from the fun and silly PowerPoint night, to the relaxed and cosy film screening, to the discussion-focused other film screening, to the "are we really a student society if we don't have at least one drinking social?" bar crawl! We're also always open to event suggestions to make sure there is truly something for everyone!
Offering Support: We aim to foster a supportive community in general, but we also hold events like the Welfare Drop-in, where you can come to relax, do some crafts/colouring, and/or talk to one of the welfare officers about what's going on. As a student-led society, we won't be able to provide counselling or crisis support, but we are here to listen and can signpost you to services with trained professionals that may be able to help!
You can also check out the resources collated by Trans@Warwick!
Running Educational Events: We run a wide range of events aimed at both the Trans* community and the wider University, usually in collaboration with other like-minded societies (because intersectionality is key!). Some of our past events include a talk with Dr. Faye Mitchell on staying safe online while Trans*, an introduction to transmisogyny and how to spot and prevent it, and of course, our Trans 101 session, where you're invited to ask any questions you have!
Campaigning: Whilst most of our events tend to have collective liberation in mind, we are also focused on making acute progress for Trans* rights at Warwick. Currently, that means putting heavy pressure on the University to re-instate their previous (before May 2025) Trans Inclusion Policy and protect the rights of Trans* students and staff at Warwick to use the facilities that they feel safe in (check out our linktree to sign the collective statement on the changes!). We also get involved in other campaigns and movements wherever we can!
If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out!
