Welfare & Social
The University of Warwick Students’ Union society for Lesbian, Gay, Bi+, Trans, Undefined, Aromantic and Asexual (LGBTUA+) students - and their friends!
Welcome to Pride, the LGBTUA+ Society at Warwick Students Union. Since 1978 we have advocated for the LGBTUA+ community here at Warwick and beyond. We are committed to amplifying the voices of everyone in our community to ensure we are part of the conversation on LGBTUA+ rights.
Pride is all about community, coming together to support each other and have fun! We look forward to seeing you at one of our events soon. If you are nervous please feel free to drop us a message on Facebook or via email, a member of exec can meet you before an event.
If you decide to join the society you will receive weekly emails containing details of the week's events, along with a summary of the events to come in the following week. This is a brilliant way to stay in the loop about what we have planned for you, and what you can get involved with whilst at Warwick.
We aim to provide a safe and fun environment for the LGBTUA+ community and their allies to enjoy themselves. Every fortnight during term time(weeks 2, 4, 6, 8 & 10) we meet at the Terrace Bar between 5pm and 7pm. We run everything from craft socials to nights out at The Yard, a local LGBTUA+ venue. There is something for everyone and we ensure that there is a mix of alcohol and alcohol free events.
Pride is committed to supporting students and staff to be their authentic selves and to enjoy life at Warwick. Our work on student welfare ensures that the LGBTUA+ community has access to free safe sex supplies and sexual health testing. We also lobby for improved Mental Health and Student Wellbeing services.
In order to help you feel at home in Pride we offer a befriending service and a parenting scheme.
Throughout the year Pride is involved in a number of events such as Bi+ Visibility Day, Ace/Aro Awareness Week, Pride Week, Black History Month, Trans Day of Remembrance, LGBTUA+ History Month, International Working Womens Week, International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia and Biphobia.
To contact Warwick Pride you can email us at email@example.com or message us on our Facebook page.

A note about joining the society:
If you are a current Warwick student (or starting in September) we recommend you choose Standard Membership as this will enable you to vote in society elections (or stand as a candidate). If you are a graduate or a member of the public then you must join as an Associate Member. Membership of Warwick Pride does not require you to be a member of the Societies Federation, so the cost to join the society is just £3 (Societies Federation membership is required for most other societies).
