Sports Clubs
Completely new to the sport? Welcome to fencing! No need to buy equipment to join the club and no experience necessary. Our coach runs a beginners course in terms 1 and 2.
Have you fenced before? Great! We provide 3 weapon coaching and have a men's team and a women's team that compete in BUCS leagues.
We encourage everyone to compete in local and national competitions with other members of the club, however there's no pressure to compete. We run our very own beginner's competition in November (National Novices) and are planning to run our 3 weapon fencing open the next academic year as well.
Socials and charity events are run year-round by our Social Secretaries so you'll be sure to make lots more friends to fence!
You don't need to be a member for the first 2 weeks!
Note: After taster sessions end, beginners sessions will become regular sessions with a beginners' course and experienced sparring. We'll notify our members and prospective members about it via email.
If you are struggling to find your way around campus, check out the interactive campus map here.
To join fencing you'll need:
The club uses session fees to pay for coaching as well as to fix and buy equipment.
