Warwick Fencing - The only place on campus where you can stab your friends with a sword!
Completely new to the sport? Welcome to fencing! We will give you everything you need to fence. No need to buy equipment to join the club and no experience necessary. Our coach runs a beginners course in terms 1 and 2 so you can join the club at anytime.
Have you fenced before? Great! We provide 3 weapon coaching and have 1 men's team and 1 women's team that compete in British Universities and Colleges Sport (BUCS) leagues.
We encourage everyone to compete in local and national competitions with other members of the club, however there's no pressure to compete. We run our very own beginner's competition in December (National Novices) and are planning to run our 3 weapon fencing open this academic year as well.
Socials and charity events are run year round by our Social Secretary so you'll be sure to make lots more friends to stab!
Your first session is always free!
Please note: if you are not a current student of the University of Warwick you can still become a member. For more information and to apply for membership follow this link https://www.warwicksu.com/societies-sports/sports-clubs/howtojoin/associate/.

British Universities and Colleges Sport (BUCS)

To compete in BUCS you will need to be a fully paid member of the club, be registered on BUCS Play and have a valid British Fencing membership (starter and recreational are accepted).
We hold team try outs in the first 2 weeks of term 1 during experienced sessions. If you miss try outs feel free to contact the relevant captain (see below) to ask whether you can join the team.
Please note: our club is mixed and all members are free to self identify. For BUCS competitions, athletes are able to choose which team they would like to represent in accordance with the BUCS Trans Policy and the British Fencing Transgender Policy (these documents can be found in the resources section below). If you have any questions or concerns please contact the Welfare Officer or President. Alternatively, you can contact the Trans Students' Officer at email@example.com or through Facebook and Instagram @WarwickLgbtuaOfficers.
