Who we are:
UWCA are the university’s foremost right of centre movement and the most active political society on campus. We bring together like-minded people to not only discuss politics and promote conservative values, but also to enjoy a host of socials, speaker events and debates.
There has never been a better time to join UWCA.
So whether you’re a pavement-pounding Tory, a keen debater, want to meet leading Conservative figures, or just want to make new friends, then pop along to one of our events and say hello!
What we do:
As one of the most active and fast-growing political societies in the United Kingdom, we have been fortunate enough to host a number of thought provoking and influential speakers in recent years, including; Andrea Leadsom, James Cleverly, Michael Fabricant, Gillian Keegan, Jacob Rees-Mogg, Baroness Jenkin and many more! And this year is certainly no exception: with the likes of Andrew Bridgen, Kevin Foster and Jonathan Gullis joining us.
Whether it’s playing Laser Tag, Karoake, or simply heading to the pub, our social secs put on a tonne of socials for members throughout the year. There's a great mix of both drinking and non-drinking socials, so there is truly something for everyone!
We arrange private tours of the Houses of Parliament for our members, with the opportunity to meet and have a drink with MPs!
Throughout the year we put on a number of fundraisers, such as taking on Warwick Labour at football and pub quizzes, so we can contribute to good causes both locally and nationally.
Over the next academic year, UWCA are raring to get our teeth sunk into a number of campaigns off campus.
We have always been an active campaigning society, and over the years have built relationships with a number of MPs. We campaigned in marginal seats in the 2019 general election, including Warwick and Leamington and Coventry South.
