University of Warwick Matchday Society

Matchday Society is the society for Warwick’s football fans.

The society aims to bring together all those who share a passion for the beautiful game through regular trips to football matches, ranging from local non-league trips to Leamington to Champions League games at Manchester City. As well as this, we host regular Champions League and Europa League socials, “Careers in Football” events, football chat, Skool Dayz circles and much more!

Whether you’re a diehard supporter or someone who watches the occasional game, this is the society for you. Matchday is a welcoming and relaxed society ideal for meeting new people, making new friends and having a great time enjoying the game we all love, football! Get involved in the society through attending our socials, joining our fantasy league, running for exec positions and playing for one of our teams!

Everyone’s welcome, so come along and enjoy the football with some great company!

2021/22 Socials and Events:

Now that we are allowed to go to watch football again, we undoubtedly will continue to make regular trips to our local non-league football team, Leamington FC, who play in the National League South. Additionally, we hope to announce more trips than ever to Premier League and Champions League games, and we are in a geographical location where we can quickly get to a whole range of clubs.

We are also looking into the possibility of getting external speakers in for the upcoming academic year, so make sure to keep an eye on our social media!

Any events which are planned are done so through our Facebook page. We also have active Instagram and Twitter pages, so follow these to ensure you don’t miss anything which the society has planned.

With the situation as it is at the moment, we can’t guarantee what events may or may not be allowed to take place over the coming year. But, for any prospective members, we have listed some of our socials from our 2019/20 academic year, so you know the sort of events to expect in more normal times! If anyone has any questions, our social media pages get checked regularly, so be sure to contact us if you have any queries.
