SU First Aid training

The SU believes that having first aid skills is essential to the safety and skills development of its members. This is mandatory for our sports clubs, and we suggest that societies (especially those undertaking physical activity, using equipment, etc.) consider signing up to train at least one of its exec in basic first aid – this will help make your events safer, encourage members to feel comfortable, and provide you with an invaluable life skill!

Sports Clubs

  • Sports clubs can access on-campus first aid courses provided by Medevent
  • This is partially subsidised, so clubs must cover the remaining costs – which were £20 per person for the academic year 2024/25
  • This training is provided across 2 dates, and available for up to 30 people each time – but we have flexibility with our courses depending on demand

Societies

Currently, the SU is unable to provide subsidised first aid training to societies. However, we can recommend a number of providers (here on campus and beyond!) and advise your society/sports club on how to fund, sign-up to or advertise these courses.
