Welcome Week 2018 will be taking place between Monday 24th - Sunday 30th September 2018. This is a teaching-free week for all new students starting at Warwick in September.
All Societies and Sports Clubs are invited to run a taster session(s) during the week. This is a great opportunity to introduce your society or club to new students, and could take the form of a social, talk, demonstration, performance – whatever you want to do!
To make sure your event is included on students’ Welcome Week timetables, you’ll need to submit your session to this form: welcomeweek.warwick.ac.uk. Please make sure a member of your exec fills out the event request form before the deadline of 31st March!
There are guidance notes on the form to help you. You’ll be able to select your preferred date, part of the day and location; capacity; and duration of the event, including setup and pack-down time. In the event name field, please add the name of your society or club before the event title.
Please note: whilst the Welcome Week team will do their best to accommodate your preferred location, due to the large number of events we are unable to guarantee your preference. Event locations will be confirmed in May.
Guidance on the form is available HERE. The Welcome Week team will also be hosting drop-in sessions in SUHQ during Week 10 for any students who want to find out more about the process - dates are as follows...
* Wednesday 14th March: 2pm-5pm in Meeting Room 3
* Friday 16th March: 9:30am-1pm in Meeting Room 3
There will be lots happening during the week, and the University will be running events alongside the Students’ Union. Here are a few ideas for you to consider:
You'll be able to handover ‘ownership’ of events to a new Executive Committee, but it’s important that you complete the event request form between 1st March and 31st March to be included: welcomeweek.warwick.ac.uk.
