The Students’ Union Commercial Team continues to closely monitor government advice regarding Coronavirus, with both the physical and mental well-being of our members and staff being of paramount importance to us.
For the time-being, we aim to keep our catering outlets open in order to provide a service to those on campus with few other options and who may be feeling isolated. The outlets open currently are The Dirty Duck, Canopy, Bread Oven, and Curiositea.
All of our outlets have a 5 star EHO rating and we take food and personal hygiene matters very seriously, so we will continue to adhere to our strict policies on hand-washing and food safety. In addition, as of today (Wednesday 18th March), all of our outlets will be operating a cashless payment system. We will only accept payments via credit/debit card or Eating at Warwick.
We understand that the measures put into place by the Government on Monday 16th March recommend that people avoid pubs, bars and restaurants and take other social distancing measures to protect themselves and others. The advice on self isolation has also now changed, so we respectfully ask that if any of our members are displaying any of the symptoms for which self-isolation is recommended, they do not come into our outlets.
For all others, we are working on making as many of our options as possible available as takeaway, so people do not feel compelled to sit in an environment where they may feel uncomfortable. However, as the government is currently only making recommendations rather than enforcing closures, we will keep our doors open for anyone that wishes to eat in.
We will continue to monitor developments, and will provide further updates if the situation changes.
