Asexual Awareness Week is observed annually as an opportunity to educate, raise awareness, and celebrate asexual identities and people!
'Asexual' is the umbrella term for a spectrum of identities in which people don't experience sexual attraction, experience it weakly or rarely, or only experience it under specific circumstances.
'Aromantic' is the umbrella term for the spectrium of identities in which people don't experience romatic attraction, experience it weakly or rarely, or only experience it under specific circumstances.
On Monday 26th (6-8pm) there is an asexual community social. If you identify on the asexual or aromantic spectra, join the Pride asexual community Facebook group here to get involved.
On Wednesday 28th (1-2pm) Sexpression Warwick have organised a discussion, open to all, on non-normative relationships. Use the space to discuss different types of relationships, and how they work for people with different sexualities, in a relaxed and supportive space. Join via Teams here. [Facebook event]
On Thursday 29th (7-8pm) there's an event and Q&A with Emi Salida, "Asexual Activism and Awareness, and why we need it". Emi is an asexual activist and YouTuber who we're delighted to welcome to Warwick for this event. Join via Teams here. [Facebook event]
In week 5 we have one further event, on Friday 6th (4-5pm), which will introduce different types of attraction. Learn more about the difference between sexual and romantic attraction, or a crush and a squish, as well as gaining an understanding of sensual and aesthetic attractions. Join via Teams here.
