On the 29th November 2019, Warwick SU supported the Global Climate Strike by hosting a Climate Emergency briefing and Q&A panel led by University of Warwick academics. This preceded a march and mass sit-in at University house, in protest of the University's 'inaction' in its response to the climate crisis. The day then ended with a screening of 'Heading For Extinction (and what to do about it)' in The Graduate, with a discussion led by an academic from the University.
University of Warwick students who live in on-campus accommodation consume an average of 193 litres of water per person per day in their rooms. That is 43 litres more than the national average (who also have access to hosepipes, washing machines, dishwashers etc).
Last academic year (2018-19) the Students' Union President declared an emergency regarding the current situation with our planet's environment. He wrote the following statement:

Over the summer the restaurant in SUHQ has been redeveloped from Xananas into a new outlet called Canopy.
