Our Instructors
ITF - Mark Fitton, Sophie Cockerham & Darcy Holden
Mark , 5th Degree Black Belt, runs our ITF sessions on Thursdays. He has over 30 years of experience in Taekwondo. Mark's Taekwondo career was predominantly governed by his time in the RAF where he regularly competed in numerous national and international competitions as part of the RAF and Armed Forces Taekwondo teams, gaining Service Colours at both levels. Mark is also the chief instructor at Balsall Common Taekwondo club. Mark’s particular interest in martial arts is understanding the technical nature of the art and applying this to his main passion of teaching self-defence.
Matthew, 2nd Degree Black Belt, and Sophie, 3rd Degree Black Belt, take the ITF sessions on a Tuesday. Matthew is studying for his PhD in physics and is in his third year. He started Tae Kwon-Do at 14 years old, and received his 1st degree when he was 18 during his first year of undergraduate at the University of Liverpool. He trained with the club at Liverpool and was their treasurer and president. He now trains at Warwick and is the current treasurer. Sophie has been training for 10 years and is a qualified International Instructor for ITF taekwondo. As well as being the current Charity and Publicity officer, she is in her second year studying Engineering.
WT - Dominic Ly & Nicola Rosetti

Dominic holds a 1st degree black belt and has done Taekwondo for over 8 years. He has competed nationally in both the UK and Hong Kong, and is apart of the British Taekwondo National Squad this year. Dominic co-runs our WT and squad sessions, with the focus on getting members to sparring competition standard. Outside of Taekwondo he is a final year Economics student, and has been coaching with the club since 2022.
Competitions
Our club attends a variety of official competitions throughout the year. We have a dedicated Squad session on a Saturday for all those looking to compete at a high level. You can compete in patterns, sparring, breaking and special technique. We attend ITF and WT competitions. Notable competitions include BUCS, BUTL, TSTUK Interclub and ITFU championships.

Gradings
We offer internal gradings in both ITF and WT styles every term. So come along and work your way up from white belt to black belt.

Seminars
We also offer several seminars throughout the year with some very special guests. There are opportunies to further your knowledge in self-defense, Bo Staffs and cool kicks. We also run joint training sessions with other University clubs.
