Sports Clubs
Classical and Modern Dance (CMD) is one of the largest sports clubs at Warwick. Whatever your dance interest, we guarantee to have something for you.
We offer classes for Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced level dancers across Ballet, Jazz, Lyrical and Contemporary as well as holding classes in Commercial, Pointe and Flexibility & Technique. The first two weeks of classes are free to try, then you can either pay as you go or buy a class pass which gives you the remaining 8 classes for the price of 6!
As well as our weekly classes we perform in three shows a year and compete at numerous national competitions. All of our classes are student run so there is also the option to audition to become a class teacher or competition choreographer!
All this plus weekly socials, open classes, skills swaps and extensive charity work means that there is always something for you to get involved with at CMD!
Our Club Constitution
The aim is to provide dance opportunities for students with all levels of experience, from beginner to intermediate, to advanced. We want to improve individual technique and performance within a welcoming, friendly, and fun environment. The club will only select teachers who are properly trained with the best dance and teaching ability to ensure dancer’s abilities are challenged and their artistry is developed. There will be a central focus on maintaining equality and inclusivity with a range of opportunities provided. Although a priority will be elite performance in shows and competitions, CMD will not be elitist and will provide a safe and encouraging environments for all.
This is an On Campus club. You’ll need a Warwick Sport Club Pass as well as a Sports Federation membership.
