For Beginners & Recreational Boxers
If you’ve never picked up a pair of gloves before, don’t worry — that’s exactly what we’re here for. Our sessions are designed to be accessible to all levels, so beginners train alongside more experienced boxers in a safe and supportive environment. We place a strong emphasis on safety, making sure you learn the fundamentals properly while building confidence, fitness, and technique. Our club is committed to welcoming you this season.
Competitive Boxers
BUCS 2026 Champions 🥇
We are a club committed to growing our competitive team. If selected for the team, you will have the opportunity to train at Cleary's Boxing up to 6x a week for only £20! We compete in BUCS each year, as well as other England Boxing affiliated events, such as the Development Championships.
There is also the opportunity to compete on standard club shows, where you can gain experience if you don't yet feel ready to compete at tournament level. The competitive pathway isn't just for people with prior experience - many of our competitive team only began boxing at Warwick, and within a year have already competed at multiple events across the country.
If you're passionate about boxing and motivated to take your skills to the next level, UWABC will support you every step of the way.
Inclusivity
Boxing is a sport for everyone. At UWABC, we look to encourage all members to grow, regardless of their background or skill level. For those who may feel more comfortable in a dedicated space for those who are less represented in boxing, we run a Women's and non-binary training session every Wednesday at TBD. Everyone is encouraged to attend mixed sessions, while these dedicated sessions offer an additional opportunity to gain confidence in boxing.
Fees
Please note that the off-campus pass should only be purchased upon acceptance into the competitive team - purchase of this pass does not guarantee admittance to off-campus sessions.
FAQs
Do I need to bring my own gloves?
We have a large store of gloves and skipping ropes for members to use. If you're looking to regularly attend sessions, we would recommend getting your own gloves and gumshield. These are also required if you plan to train at Cleary's Boxing.
I want to train but don't want to spar - is this possible?
Of course!
