Who are we?
We are WUFS (Warwick University Furry Society); a society centred on the Furry Fandom.
We aim to celebrate our unique identity and to create a space in which both furries and non-furries can express themselves and their weird sides.
What is the Furry Fandom?
The furry fandom is a giant celebration of anthropormorphic identities - explored through many different ways, often fictional.
Anthropomorphism (aka “Anthro”) is the projection of human characteristics onto animals, making them like us.
Popular examples include Judy Hopps (Zootopia), Puss in Boots, even Peppa Pig! All three walk and talk like humans do and live out daily lives in their own fictional worlds.
What does WUFS do?
We act as a space to enable our members to explore and express their furry identity. We want to celebrate what it means to be us and to cherish the ethos of our community: to be accepted.
Everyone has their own forms, preferences and even definitions of what being "furry" means to them - with that we host a wide range of activities and events to pull everyone together! It doesn't matter whether your fursona is a duck, or you identify as a therian, or you're just tagging along for fun: we want to create a community that accepts one another and there is no better way to do that than being friends to one another.
Our discord server is very active (such as with the online nature of our fandom!) and we often share anthropormorphic media, discuss various topics, hangout online with videogames or even share cute pictures of cats from the cat café we visit.
We have frequent events such as our weekly boardgames and hangout, our termly cat café visits, film nights, collabs with other societies - alongside being involved in the local furry community through Birmingham Furs where we attend local furmeets!
More recently, we've started attending furry conventions: such as Confuzzled (the major UK furry convention, over 3.5k+ attendees), and we plan to go ScotiaCon too!

You don't need to be a member to take part in any of our events or the server! Membership to join the society costs £1.
