Warwick Future Female Lawyers (WFFL) Society

Founded in 2024, Warwick Future Female Lawyers Society (WFFL) has a simple goal: to make the legal industry more accessible to aspiring female lawyers. We provide the resources, guidance, and inspiration to help women take up the space they deserve in the profession. Our friendly, driven Executive Committee and brilliant members reflect our commitment to creating a welcoming and empowering space at Warwick.

At WFFL, we believe in collaboration, diversity and support. Our inclusive community welcomes students of all degrees and genders to learn, grow and network together.

What we do:

  • Career Panels and Workshops - partnering with law firms to host networking events, informative panels, application workshops and first year scheme/vacation scheme panels.
  • Mentorship scheme - matching our members with experienced students from various degree disciplines to share advice about law firm opportunities, applications, interview preparation and the transition from university to the workplace.
  • Collaborative Events - working with other societies at Warwick to deliver events and host panels, including Warwick Law Society, BASE Law and PPL Society.
  • Socials - hosting opportunities and events to meet other students at Warwick and our exec team. We understand the importance of an inclusive community where you can make long-term friends. Past socials include bar crawls, bake sales and evening meals.
  • Commercial Awareness Resources - including the EmpowerHer Blog and the Legal WFFLers Podcast, as well as partnerships with companies such as The Commercial Law Academy.

The legal world can sometimes feel like a tough industry to break into - especially for women - when leadership and traditions don’t always reflect the diversity we want to see. WFFL is committed to creating a safe, inspiring space for aspiring female lawyers to learn, network and build confidence. Whether you’re looking for mentorship, networking opportunities, or simply a community of like-minded women, we’re here for you!
