Warwick Telugu Society

Warwick Telugu Society

Warwick Telugu Society is the official cultural society for Telugu-speaking students at the University of Warwick.

We bring together students from Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, and Telugu-speaking communities across the UK. Many of our members grew up in the UK and are reconnecting with their heritage, while others bring global perspectives shaped by life abroad. Whether you speak Telugu fluently or are just curious to explore the culture, our society celebrates everything that makes the Telugu identity unique. From food and language to film, festivals, and community, we create a space where everyone can connect and feel at home.

This year, Warwick Telugu Society brought people together through food, film, tradition, and sport. Here’s a look at what we’ve done:

Social and Cultural Events

  • Hosted a lunch social at Ayla’s Grill in Leamington🍽️

  • Organised a film screening for members and friends🎞️

  • Celebrated Sankranthi with Warwick INSA and other cultural societies 🇮🇳

  • Held our annual Ugadi Ball in Term 2 with cultural performances and traditional Telugu cuisine 🎊

  • Introduced Telugu Soc Initiations as a yearly event. Keep an eye on our socials for this year's initiations 👀

Sports and Activities

  • Collaborated with Warwick Kabaddi Society🤼‍♂️

  • Played friendly badminton matches and are planning more sports throughout the year🏸

  • Exploring opportunities for a 5-a-side football team and other student-led competitions⚽
