Welcome to Warwick Duck Society! 🦆🦢🥰

Love ducks and birds? Enjoy being outside? Want to unwind and connect with nature? Come and join us to feed the ducks! Not bread though, it's bad for them!! :D

We’re a nature-loving, bird-friendly, and relaxed society open to everyone, whether you're a seasoned birdwatcher or just think ducks are awesome. 🦆 Our aim is to create a chill, inclusive community where students can enjoy the outdoors, appreciate wildlife, and take a break from academic stress. It's a great way to meet like-minded people, explore the local area, and practise mindfulness in a calm, wholesome setting.

Events & Socials:

• Duck Feed 🦆🪿 & Cafe 🍵🍰 (Off Campus) - We travel to various lakes in the area and feed the ducks, interact with the community, and then (usually) head to a local cafe for hot drinks and sweet treats! We sell bags of oats/duck food for £1 each at these events.
• Duck-nics! ☀️🧺 - We go to the nearby lakes for a picnic and watch the ducks whilst having our lunch! These chill socials are usually held on campus, and are the perfect lunch break during Term 3 when everyone's a bit stressed! People can drop by for however long they want, whether that be 10 minutes or 2 hours!
• Birdwatching Walks 🚶‍➡️🐦‍⬛ - We go on walks on and off campus to watch the birds! These events are usually held when it's bird flu season, so we avoid feeding the ducks to keep them safe!
• Quizzes 🤔💭, Competitions 📸 & Other Indoors Socials! 🌧️- For when it's a bit too chilly for a walk or feed, we relax indoors and socialise with fellow duck friends! We have prizes for quizzes and competitions, and free snacks and hot choc!

As we travel a lot, we usually post updates on our Instagram story and WhatsApp Group Chat so people know where to find us if they're running late!

If you have any other ideas for Duck Soc events, don't hesitate to let our exec team know! We have plans for crafts nights, movie nights and more :)

We aim to be as sustainable as possible, and teach our members how to care for and safely feed our feathered friends! We reuse our oat bags and make sure to pick up any litter and waste around us!
