Welcome to the University of Warwick’s Catholic Society.
CathSoc combines the spiritual and social aspects of the Catholic faith at Warwick. We aim to encourage fellowship through the celebration of Holy Mass as well as spiritual, social and fundraising events. We serve a dual-purpose: we connect the Catholic community of Warwick together, and encourage and support people in their journey of faith. CathSoc is a place of friendship where Catholics from all over the world can experience their faith together.
It is completely free to join our society and you do not need to pay the Societies Federation fee.
All undergraduates, postgraduates and staff alike are invited to join. Whether you've been a practicing Catholic for years or you've only recently become interested in the Catholic faith, everybody is equally welcome!
What does CathSoc do?
Every week we host a social event on Monday evenings in the chaplaincy where all our members are welcome to come and join in with a fun activity. These events are perfect for meeting other members of the catholic community here at Warwick!
Every Thursday evening we host a faith-development event of some sort. We have a fortnightly Bible Study group and other events include talks about short talks on specific aspects of the catholic faith and a lrosary group with led meditations and reflections from the saints. All of these events are sutiable for everyone - they are the perfect forum for asking questions so catholic-curious people are very welcome!
We also have weekly prayer meetings on Wednesday mornings and have regular prayer groups that meet up multiple times a week. Details of these can be found on our Whatsapp group
What about weekly Masses, the Sacraments and opportunities for pilgrimages?
CathSoc works closely with our Chaplain, Fr Simon, so that he can provide opportunities for Confession and Adoration regularly on campus. We have Adoration twice a term and we have one weekday Student Mass in the chaplaincy at 12:30 every Thursday during term-time. Fr Simon is available for confession on campus every Thursday too.
On Sundays we have our Student Mass at 12:45 in St Joseph the Worker's Church (next to campus), followed by refreshments. We have an amazing Choir, and brillaint teams of altar-servers and readers. If you would like to get involved in any of these ministeries then please get in touch via our insta or whatsapp!
We also offer opportunities for pilgrimages - these will be advertised on our social media pages.
Please join us at our social and spiritual events! We look forward to meeting you.
