Term 3 Roundup from the FTO Team

We’re approaching the end of the academic year, and your Full-Time Officer team have been working hard to advocate for students’ interests. Take a look at some of the team’s achievements this term!

We’re approaching the end of the academic year, and your Full-Time Officer team have been working hard to advocate for students’ interests.

Whilst we were sad to see 3 of our Full-Time Officers leave, we were delighted that Olly, Charlotte and Megan have secured new jobs, and wish them the best of luck.

Take a look at some of the team’s achievements in this FTO Term 3 Roundup!

  • Launched ‘Party Smart’, a welfare campaign for drug and alcohol harm reduction, to support students in making informed choices, and in staying as safe as possible.
  • Pushed the University to open up additional study space for Term 3, including spaces for students to take exams.
  • Continue to lobby the University to ensure as much teaching as possible is in-person in Term 1. Also have been ensuring students’ voices are heard in future plans for blended learning.
  • Pushed for further diversification and flexibility of assessment methods, allowing students to choose how they want to be assessed.
  • Facilitated ‘Summer of Sport’, by supporting sports clubs in running free taster sessions, open to all students.
  • Held our annual Union Awards, which celebrate students and groups who have made an impact on campus through campaigning and activism or the organisation of society events.
  • Held our Summer Elections and successfully elected five new Student Trustees to oversee the SU’s finances and governance, as well as Associations Execs to lead our brand new Liberation Associations.
  • Supported the Term 3 Active Bystander Intervention Course, which focuses on the prevention of sexual misconduct and violence to develop the knowledge, skills and confidence to be an Active Bystander.
  • Celebrated University staff members who have gone above and beyond, in our annual Transforming Education Awards.
  • Launched Warwick SU’s 2021-25 Strategic Plan, which sets out the SU’s plans for the next five years and how we can be held accountable for delivering them.
