Protect yourself from rogue landlords!

You know how everyone always stresses the importance of filling out an inventory and taking pictures of your property as soon as you move in, but you’d rather watch Netflix and do some serious chilling before term starts? Well, the SU has created a resource for you that’s super-easy (if not, dare I say actually fun) to fill out and won’t take you much time.

EXPLORE YOUR HOME’ sets you and your housemates 16 challenges, with a total of 35 points available to win. It will gently remind and nudge you in the right direction of the responsibilities you really need to get on top of when living in off-campus accommodation, while suggesting some cool stuff you might not have thought of yet such as attending the first ‘Match of the Week’ fixture on Wednesday of Week 1 (2pm, Cryfield).

Fill out the two-sided sheet with your roomies, and then tweet us your score at #WarwickMoveIn for a chance to win some Skool Dayz tickets for Term 1, Week 3.

Make the effort to print out a copy and stick it on your fridge. At the end of the year when you get into a tussle with your landlord (should you be unfortunate enough for that to happen), you’ll be grateful that you took the time out to make these checks now! Your pennies are better in your pocket than in a rogue landlord’s, so protect yourself before you wreck yourself.
