Societies & Clubs

We have over 250 societies at Warwick and over 60 sports clubs, so there is bound to be something for you! Our societies and sports clubs offer you a fantastic opportunity to meet new people, engage in enriching social activities, and gain valuable skills and experience you can record and carry with you into all important interviews.

If you’re interested in getting more out of your Society and Sports Club membership, consider becoming an Exec member. All Societies and Sports Clubs are run by student Executive Committees and there are 1581 Societies Exec roles and 588 Sports Exec roles available for students.

Taking on an Executive role is a great way to build valuable skills and experience that will pay dividends in the long run. Below you can find role summaries for Exec positions and take your membership to the next level, building on an activity you enjoy to bolster your skillset and move towards the job you want.

Want To Take Your Society and Sports Club Membership Further? Become An Exec Member!

To give you an indication of what’s involved in being an Exec Member of a Society or Club, you can access role summaries for the positions. If one of them interests you, consider putting yourself forward by following the instructions outlined in the job summary.

There are three executive roles which are compulsory for every Society and Sports Club committee, which are President, Secretary and Treasurer.

In addition to these three essential roles, Societies and Clubs are often made stronger by expanding committees to include optional roles where additional Execs can perform valuable functions to make Societies and Sports Clubs more rewarding for members. Popular optional roles include Social Secretaries, Publicity Officers, and Fundraising Officers.
