Want to learn from experts about one of the largest economies in the world? Heard of the rise of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) and want to find out more? Interested in Southeast Asia (SEA) and want to speak with SEA embassy representatives themselves?
Warwick ASEAN Conference offers all that and more!
The Warwick ASEAN Conference (WAC) is the first and largest student-run ASEAN conference in the UK. Established in 2015, WAC has grown to be one of the largest symposiums of its kind, attracting hundreds of UK-based youths from Southeast Asia and other countries to gather and engage with a distinguished panel of Southeast Asian dignitaries and speakers. WAC seeks to provide an opportunity for students to grapple with pressing developments in the Southeast Asian region, build networks with our esteemed corporate and embassy partners, and celebrate ASEAN as a thriving entity.
In previous editions of WAC, we have had esteemed speakers such as Dato Sri Nazir Razak (Chairman of CIMB Group and the ASEAN Regional Business Council), Ms. Ketsuda Supradit (International Economic Advisor at the Ministry of Finance of Thailand), and Her Excellency Ms. Foo Chi Hsia (Singapore High Commissioner to the UK and former Political Coordinator of UN Security Council). Our previous sponsors include the likes of HSBC, Maybank, KPMG, and AirAsia.
After last year's shift towards digital due to the pandemic, we are proud to announce that WAC 2022 is coming back as an in-person conference and will be bigger and better than before. The theme of this year's conference is 'Charting our Future', which aims to closely examine the developments and trends which have emerged in the wake of the pandemic. Conference delegates can look forward to exploring the future of ASEAN through exciting panel discussions with our guest speakers, interactive networking opportunities with established companies, and engagement sessions with ASEAN embassy representatives. Additionally, conference delegates will have the opportunity to explore Southeast Asian culture and cuisine through our popular annual food fair.
Mark your calendars and join us at The Oculus on 26th February (Saturday) from 9am to 5pm for this year's exciting edition of WAC!
