Warwick Student Cinema: Grand Theft Hamlet - Late

Event from Warwick Student Cinema

Saturday 25 January 2025, 9.30PM - Saturday 25 January 2025, 11.30PM

L3

Come see Grand Theft Hamlet presented with stunning 4K Laser Projection on the big screen in L3!

Grand Theft Hamlet is a documentary following the live production of Shakespeare's Hamlet all through the video game Grand Theft Auto. During the UK Covid-19 lockdown in 2021, directors Sam Crane and Pinny Gylls opened up a whole new avenue of movie production, reflected in the many awards this film merited in 2024: the year of it's release. Grand Theft Hamlet has also had a great reception, with critics saying it's "a startling example of using any tools at your disposal to make memorable art, Grand Theft Hamlet's experimental approach does justice by the Bard." [Holly Beaumont]
