Warwick Student Cinema: Kinds of Kindness (35mm) - Late

Event from Warwick Student Cinema

Friday 04 October 2024, 9.30PM - Friday 04 October 2024, 11.30PM

L3

Come see Kinds of Kindness presented on 35mm film on the big screen in L3!

An intricately woven triptych of three vaguely connected short films starring the same ensemble, Kinds of Kindness is unnervingly hilarious. Emma Stone reprises the quirky roles she has consistently played in Lanthimos’ films. Jesse Plemons plays a variety of disturbing characters. Willem Dafoe becomes more and more eccentric as the films progress. Margaret Qualley, Mamoudou Athie, Joe Alwyn and Hong Chau mold themselves to a variety of major and secondary roles in these films. It feels like a crazy, all over the place yet fun party. This film most prominently explores human nature and morality through eerie and uncanny storylines. The music is another highlight – Jerskin Fendrix, who also scored Poor Things, meshes discordant vocals and strings to create a dissonantly perfect soundtrack. Tethered together by a mysterious person called “R.M.F”, Kinds of Kindness never fails to intrigue, charm and horrify. [Naomi Pandey]
