Events

This event is a joint tour of University Wind Orchestra and University Brass Society. We intend to go to Amsterdam between 01/07/2022 and 08/07/2022. We will travel by plane (we will ask members to come to campus on the morning of 01/07/2022 before taking public transport to Birmingham Airport). Then we will take public transport from Amsterdam airport to our Hostel, WOW Amsterdam.

In Amsterdam, there will be a range of activities. Members will have some free time to go on excursions, of which we will provide some suggestions, in a tour pack. This will include details of any possible costs. We will also plan some group activities, such as a day trip to Zandvoort beach and a group meal. 

This event is targeting any members of University Wind Orchestra or Brass Society. The purpose of tour is for members to enjoy themselves and to become closer as ensembles. We hope that members will immerse themselves in the local culture of Amsterdam, and that our societies benefit from the opportunity to attend performances in a new environment. Similarly, a tour to Amsterdam gives our bands the opportunity to consider new styles of music, both as listeners, since we would like to attend a free concert while we are there. Ultimately, we want members to have fun with their friends and feel more enthusiastic about their music.
