We are still waiting on the SU's Democracy team to hear about our election results. As soon as we know the results, we’ll let you know. But as only two candidates stood in the election, the vast majority of the posts ran with no candidates, meaning that we will have a significant number of unfilled posts this year.

That being said, the Student’s Union has moved forward with its plans for setting up the LGBTUA+ Association, which means the remaining posts will be elected through the SU’s Summer Elections period.
The LGBTUA+ Association will be free to join, and anyone who has self-defined as belonging to that liberation group can become a member of it. The positions on LGBTUA+ Association’s exec will mirror the existing roles on Pride’s Committee, but will also include the SU’s LGBTUA+ and Trans Part-time Officers as non-voting exec members.

Nominations for the Summer Elections open on 26th April at noon until 7th May at noon.

Elections will start on the 10th May at noon and close on the 14th May at 3pm.

The members of the LGBTUA+ Association committee will receive some staff support that has not been present in previous years. This means that if you’re slightly worried about not having much experience in committee roles but are interested in getting involved, remember that there are people willing to help you out. The current exec will also provide new exec members helpful handover packs to give you a better grasp of what has been done previously and some tips on how to go about doing your role!
