One Warwick team will play in each of the first 3 divisions (Championship, Plate, Bowl).  These teams will be allocated by grading order (within 10 ecf).  Each of the 4 members of the team will play 5 games, 60mins + 10 seconds per move, against other universities.

The remaining teams will represent Warwick in the 4th division (Shield).  The time control will be 25mins + 10 seconds per move against other university teams.  There will be 10 games played per person.

ECF Membership:

All players will need at least ECF bronze membership. Warwick Chess advise players to get ECF silver or above, so that they may compete in Warwick Rapidplay and/or Coventry Centenary Rapidplay (see emails and facebook page for details of these events).   Any entrants without ECF membership will be rejected.  See the link below for more details.

More details may be found on the tournament website.

Warwick Chess will be going via public transport. We estimate this cost to be ~£8

Grading and Rating:

Teams and board orders will be determined by:

(1) January 2019 ECF Standard / Rapidplay Grade

(2) January 2019 FIDE Rapidplay Rating (converted using the formula: (FIDE – 700) / 7.5)

(3) Estimated grades assigned by Warwick Chess captains.
