Part-Time and Mature Students' Officer
The Part-Time and Mature Students' Officer sits on Student Council and is part of the Liberation & Diversity Committee.
Hey, I’m Evelin Sanderson-Nichols (pronouns: she/her) and I’m your Part-Time and Mature Students’ Officer this year – I’m representing you in the Liberation & Diversity Committee and in the Student Council. I’m responsible for ensuring that the voice of part-time and mature students’ is heard on campus & you’re feeling part of the Warwick community.
Course: Philosophy and Literature
My role and what I hope to achieve this year:
As Part-Time and Mature Students’ Officer, I am here to represent the part-time and mature voices across campus. Here are some things I’m working on:
- One of my manifesto goals was to create an interactive space for Part-Time and Mature Students. -- I’m proud to announce that it has already been achieved. Join the Part-Time and Mature Students’ Channel on Microsoft Teams!
- I promised to campaign for activities and social events for mature and part-time students, and their families, to find their place and meet others in similar positions in the Warwick community.-- I’m happy to let you know about some upcoming events including drop-in and wellbeing sessions. Watch out for updates on the Teams Channel. You can fill out this survey to let me know what sort of events you’d like to see.
- Another point in my manifesto was to work to encourage students to take part in the myAdvantage and department specific programs to learn new skills (or build on existing strengths) for their personal and academic development. –- I launched the #YourAdvantage weekly series focusing on academic and personal skills, available on the Teams Channel.
