Isabelle Atkins
Education Officer
she/her
Hi! I’m Isabelle, your Education Officer this year. My job is to represent the educational interests of all students, from degree apprentices to postgraduate students. This means my job is really varied and keeps me on my toes!
Course:
I did my undergraduate degree in PAIS, followed by a Master’s in US Foreign Policy.
Hometown:
I’m a southerner by birth (and accent!) but grew up on the Warwickshire/Oxfordshire border.
Fun fact about me:
I have the sweetest golden retriever assistance dog, Rumba. You may spot her around campus with me!
My role and what I hope to achieve this year:
I’m an advocate for equity. I want to make education accessible for all. This includes cementing the Decolonise Programme in departments, introducing a queering the curriculum project, and working to make degrees and teaching accessible for disabled students. I also hope to work with SSLCs to ensure that students are being represented academically at every level, from departments right up to university committees. Education is the cornerstone of the university experience – it’s my job to make it as good as it can be!
