Fun fact about me:
I ran the student facing general election campaign for the Labour Party in Warwick and Leamington.
My role and what I hope to achieve this year:
As your Education Officer, I represent your academic interests by making sure that the student voice gets heard loud and clear in the University. Day-to-day, I attend University meetings holding people to account on your behalf by pushing for your educational needs to be at the centre of everything the University does. I also support and collaborate with your amazing Course Reps, Faculty Reps and Part-Time Officers (all of which you should definitely get involved with!) to achieve real, positive change.
Throughout the year, I'll be campaigning to tackle the biggest education issues facing you at Warwick and beyond. A few manifesto points that I hope to achieve are:
- Earlier exam timetable release
- Reducing hidden course costs by capping library fines and gaining printing credit allowances for all students
- Centring the importance of mental wellbeing to your educational experience, with compulsory mental health awareness and cultural competency training for personal tutors
- Continuing progress towards closing the Black Attainment Gap and implementing suggestions from the Decolonization Project evaluation report
If you have any questions, please do get in touch with me. I’m here to work for you!
