- I will work to slash red tape for small expense requests and forms to improve delays, allowing execs to focus on running the best societies
- Lobby to freeze future Societies Federation Fee and Society Sports League price increases
- Better publicise the Societies Federation Fee exemption application window
ACCOUNTABLE AND ACCESSIBLE
Societies are there for everyone and so should VP Socs
- I will enlarge and better publicise VP Socs office hours and make them available to everyone; exec members, society members and non-members alike
- VP Socs and Socs Committee will be seen at society activities to remain aware of current issues
- Lengthen the application window for new societies - if there's not a society that is right for you, you can create one!
- Society Swaps - the SU Atrium will be a frequently bookable space for societies to share their passions with other societies
SUPERCHARGED SUPPORT
Societies aren't just for Societies Fair
- I will provide continued growth support to societies both big and small throughout the whole year
- Smooth exec handovers by designing an information maintenance framework for preventing knowledge loss and keeping new handover packs on file and accessible to future execs - Protect Progress!
- Create a new first-aid training course available to all exec members
EXCELLENT RESOURCES
- I will revamp SU website exec resources with refreshed information on exec roles including better recognition of the role of Fresher Representative
- New exec role summaries of common roles and a robust FAQs section based on a compilation of handover packs also supporting first years in election decisions
- Implement a society and sports club alumni discussion forum
- Strengthen support through both exec resources and the alumni discussion forum for individual society-specific roles
- Lobby for freeing up sports and societies historical data
POWERFUL PROMOTION
- I will formalise a flexible promotion strategy making all societies and their events more visible than ever before
- Introduce both Charities and Culture Socs weeks, keeping these socs on the radar with a Welcome Week-style event calendar
- Raise International and Postgrad student engagement with societies through Welcome Week Orientation workshops on the benefits of getting involve with societies
BATTING 4 YOU
- I will work with the University administration to increase the reach and visibility of your concerns through SU-Univeristy collaborative projects
- Lobby for:
- Appropriate notice of cancelled bookings of university spaces and facilities
- Fairer circling space allocations
- Defending Bar Fusion as a regular circle space and T-Bar Happy Hours
- A total refresh of POP!
- An online portal for Copper Rooms event tickets resale
- A Societies Ball intended for smaller societies
