Sustainable Food on Campus
We will push for sustainable processes across campus outlets. This means sourcing local meats and produce to reduce our carbon footprint as a step towards carbon neutrality. It also means encouraging more vegetarian/ vegan options and ensuring they're affordable.
Support our Local Community
We will put on produce stalls on the Piazza where you can buy fresh food from a diverse selection of our local produce providers. We'll also organise fundraising events for local charities partnering with Warwick Volunteers and your EMO to do so.
Hold Uni to Account on Climate Crisis
The University has resisted multiple legal FOI requests to disclose their investments. As your E&E officers we will demand the University disclose its investments in order to assess how our fees may be funding the climate crisis or any other ethical violations.
Create an Open, Accessible, Safe Space
As your E&E officers, we will begin a fortnightly book club to be held in the SU. It will be a safe space to learn more about the climate crisis and how it is already affecting the global south. This will also be a supportive place for people on campus who have already been affected by climate change.
Put On a Successful Green Week
We will, in collaboration with liberation societies and environmental charities, put on a successful Green Week that will raise awareness about the climate crisis as something that has already begun in the global south and not 10-30 years away as is currently implied.
