Staying at Warwick over Christmas?

There are a variety of facilities and activities available from the SU and the University for any students staying around for the next couple of weeks or all of the Christmas holidays.

Stay well for Christmas. Campus Departure Dates are 3rd to 9th December. Campus Departure Dates: 3 - 9 December

We know that many of you will have already travelled home by now, but there are facilities and activities available for those who are having to stay on campus just a little bit longer or even over all of the Christmas holidays.

Firstly, although the Students’ Union will be closed from 16th December to 4th January, the SU Advice Centre will stay open until 22nd December to anyone who needs their help, whether that's support, advice or representation.

Secondly, make sure you check out the Warwick Presents website to discover the great range of events, activities and entertainment that will continue on campus and online over the month ahead.

Finally, the Christmas at Warwick website has got details of all the campus facilities that will be open over Christmas, info on what’s happening in the local area, and contact details for wellbeing support services that will be available should you need to get in touch.

Please do what you can to keep yourselves and your families and friends safe over the holidays.

Merry Christmas from everyone at the SU. We’ll look forward to seeing you for hopefully a better year in 2021.

Leaving Campus Accommodation

For on-campus students, please remember:

Students travelling by other means don’t need to book a departure slot, but do please plan your journey ahead. Some train operators are insisting that tickets must be booked in advance for certain routes.

Full details on everything you need to know about leaving your on-campus accommodation can be found here

Asymptomatic Testing

Asymptomatic testing is still being provided for all students who don’t have any Covid-19 symptoms to help you decide what you should do for the holidays, and to organise travel plans.

If you haven’t booked your asymptomatic tests yet, the University have extended the testing window to 15th December. Click here to book now. ?

Things you need to know:

  • The asymptomatic testing will continue with a limited schedule 7th – 15th December
  • The system will help you book two appointments, which need to be 3 days apart
  • Tests will be self-swabs, to be completed on campus at The Slate
  • Test results will be received the same day from NHS Test & Trace
  • If both tests are negative you should travel home during the ‘student travel window’ 3-9 December
  • If you have a positive test, you should self-isolate for 10 days
  • There is no need for your flat/housemates to self-isolate if you receive a positive test
  • Learning will be online only for Week 10, with a few exceptions. Departments will be in touch about this.

As has been the case previously, if you think you have Covid-19 symptoms you should book a test with the University's Test and Trace service

Full details about all the above, and everything else you might need to know about the University’s guidance on Covid-19 can be found in the Frequently Asked Questions section at: https://warwick.ac.uk/coronavirus/student-travel-window/
