Supported by the Warwick Innovation Fund, the series features creative showcases, workshops, and discussions with activists and thinkers to explore themes of Black liberation, oppression, and resistance.

Harri Paget and Ruby Deakin

Disabled Students’ Officers

  • Launched the Disability Council to coordinate the Disability Item Fund.
  • Rolled out accessibility guidance for society exec elections.
  • Made SU Student Council more accessible with new resources.
  • Renewed SU disability and mental health policies.
  • Ran sessions for disabled students both at Warwick and across the country to prepare for university life.

 

Helena Ratcliffe

Environment and Ethics Officer

  • Passed an ethical AI policy through the SU to encourage a focus on the ethical and environmental consequences of limitless AI usage.
  • Ran Green Week alongside sustainability forum, collaborating with over 20 societies to bring sustainability to the forefront of events at Warwick.
  • Led community fridge volunteer network - advertised and promoted the scheme and advocated for its expansion into the SU.

 

Riann Mehta

Ethnic Minorities Officer

  • Hosted frequent drop-in sessions for students of all backgrounds to support inclusivity in societies.
  • Supported liberation campaigns and anti-hate groups across campus.
  • Began initiative to make sport societies more accessible to ethnic minority students.

 

Jessie Yu and Mattie Oke

LGBTQUIA+ Officers

  • Organised a community session for queer people on campus.
  • Held events for queer history month.
  • Ran queer film screenings in collaboration with student cinema.

 

Lillian Dove

Trans Students’ Officer

  • Oversaw the Gender Expression Fund to give £50 of gender affirming items to 100+ students, with a record number of first-time applications.
  • Overhauled the SU's Policy on Trans Inclusion into a Stance.
  • Amended the SU's Policy on Accessing Gender Affirming Care and Student Sex Workers.
  • Voting member of the University’s Social Responsibility Steering Group, and wider group.

 

Sihaam Hassan

Widening Participation Officer

  • Co-chaired the WP Student Advisory Group (SAG), contributing to discussions on students’ experiences and needs both on and off campus.
  • Volunteered within the Wellbeing Strategy workstream to support student wellbeing initiatives.
  • Assisted WP students with bursary applications and provided guidance on their entitlements as Warwick students.

 

Katie Todd

Women’s Officer

  • Organised a free drink cover trial at SU club nights.
  • Helped to organise Menstrual Health Day, encouraging positive healthcare conversations.
  • Supported Warwick Women's Night In, a free event to reduce financial and emotional barriers to sport.
  • Helped to modify SU Sexual Violence policy.
