BUCS Sailing and Fencing Wins

Warwick Sailing recently hosted a weekend of fleet racing in the BUCS Sailing Fleet Championship, whilst Warwick Fencing have come home with some fantastic wins. Find out more.

Warwick Sailing recently hosted the BUCS Sailing Fleet Championship at Draycote Water, with 18 university clubs in attendance.

Cameron Tookey Gardner, Club Commodore, said:

"It was great to see some intense racing on Saturday with gusty and shifty weather leading to highly competitive racing, and the odd sailor left swimming! Sunday started with a long postponement due to fog and a lack of wind, but as the rain came in, so did the wind, and we got two closely fought races in for both fleets. Massive congratulations for all BUCS medalists for showcasing their skill across the two very different weather conditions, and we look forward to the event next year!"

It's also been a fantastic couple of weeks for Warwick Fencing, who went away to the BUCS Midlands Regional Fencing Tournament on Saturday 5th November, hosted in the University of Nottingham’s David Ross Sports Village.

Out of the 14 categories they entered, they came home with 13 medals, 4 of which were Gold - congratulations team!
