Come see Resident Evil presented with stunning 4K laser projection on the big screen in L3!

After many attempts to try and get this franchise to work in movie form, notably with Paul W.S. Andersons series from the 2000s, Zach Cregger (Weapons, Barbarian) returns with his fresh new take on the expansive video game series. Instead of taking us through any of the stories of the games, much like other adaptations have thus far, this one focuses on an ordinary man in this less than ordinary apocalypse as he tries his best to survive in spite of the carnage around him. Cregger knows how to deliver big terrifying spectacle, with the bold and gory sequences he makes amongst the best in recent horror. And with the T-virus, he has a wide open playing field for him to experiment and work with. 

Following on from Weapons, he works again with Austin Abrams (who played homeless drug addict James in that film), this time in the leading role. In fact, most of the team has returned from Weapons too, with the notable addition of cinematographer Dariusz Wolski to help give the imagery of this film an extra kick. With its brisk 90 minute runtime, I'm sure this one will be one of the most thrilling horror films of the year. [Tom Blakey]
