Come see Angel's Egg presented with stunning 4K laser projection on the big screen in L3!

From the same director who would later make Ghost in the Shell, Angel’s Egg is a Japanese animated post-apocalyptic film often compared to Tarkovsky’s Stalker for its bleak, surreal landscapes, and emphasis on atmosphere over the plot. Two nameless characters wander a desolate, dreamlike world, the girl carrying an egg that she is for some reason determined to protect, and the boy a cross-shaped weapon. The film’s visual design was done in collaboration with Yoshitaka Amano, well known for his commissioned illustrations for the Final Fantasy video game franchise, and his style just seems made for this kind of haunting dreamscape. Definitely a film to watch if you enjoy the abstract and unexplainable in film, even the director himself has said that he does not know what the film is about. [Lucas Tricarico]
