SPORT AND DIVERSITY AND INCLUSIVITY

  • Improving interrelationship between sport’s clubs and societies to encourage university sport participation and recognition of sporting success

    • Orientation week representation from all sports clubs

    • Warwick Sports Day to promote all sports and aid recruitment campus wide

  • Building upon sport speaker series - more minority representation

  • Female showcase at Varsity

 

SPORT AND PUTTING STUDENTS FIRST

  • Student voice heard through more responsibility for sports exec

    • Regular sports exec review meetings with Warwick Sport to ensure collaboration and fairness in facility bookings, both external and internal

    • Sports exec meeting reports published monthly, Presidential forums, better visibility at sporting events

  • ‘Club Catch Up’

    • Weekly sports blog from a new club each week to promote club achievement, upcoming events and unity

  • Improving financial transparency and efficiency

  • Careers in sport - representation of major sports employers at on campus fairs

  • Collaborate with Mental Health Services to make full use of sport as a preventative method of support

SPORT AND ACCESSIBILITY

    • Liaise with academic departments so students no longer penalised for missing contact hours when contributing to the wider reputation of the university via non-academic commitments

    • Lecture capture, seminar slots not limited to wednesdays, catch-up availability with tutors, no monitoring points

  • Discover Disability Sport

    • Better promotion of disability sports to increase awareness and encouraging sports clubs to make their sessions more accessible

    • to create links with disabled sports opportunities in the local area for our disabled students to make use of.

 

SPORT AND TALENT: WARWICK COMPETES

  • Open Days, local school projects, scholarships and sports packages to advertise new facilities and what we can offer as a university for those who are academic and sporting

  • Working with academic departments to allow leniency in admissions for high calibre athletes
