Makoto Shinkai is the absolute master of romance stories with extreme (and often supernatural) limitations. And this may be the best example of him doing this, with his highly entertaining body-swap movie, which leads to places I don't want to spoil for first time viewers. Apologies for being hyperbolic, but this may be the most stunning animation ever put to screen. The vibrancy of the colours, the cinematography presenting this world in such a strikingly gorgeous way, and the characters all having such distinct personality to them. Not to mention the incredibly catchy and memorable score by RADWIMPS, carrying this story and heightening every beautiful emotion. Listen to the hype with this anime masterpiece, what everyone says about it is true, and it remains one of my personal favourite films of all time. [Tom Blakey]
