Come see Pride & Prejudice presented on stunning 35mm film on the big screen in L3!

‘You have bewitched me, body and soul, and I love, I love, I love you’

Don’t find yourself embarrassed as you mutter Mr Darcy’s words to yourself in Warwick Student Cinema’s screening of Pride and Prejudice (2005) on 35mm.

As rumours swirl in 19th Century Hertfordshire about the presence of two wealthy bachelors making their way from the city, Mr Bingley and Mr Darcey (Matthew MacFadyen), the Bennet family make haste in their attempts for a most advantageous marriage. Although the eldest, Jane, and Mr Bingley find their attraction instantaneously, Mr Darcy’s eyes linger on the outspoken second-born, Elizabeth (Kiera Knightly). His brooding masculinity and rank is soon disrupted under the questioning of Lizzie, with her leading him to question all that he expected of a most handsome wife.

The film was an introduction to many rising stars of the time, as well as featuring the well-known likes of Donald Sutherland and Dame Judi Dench. Pay your respects to Austen’s most distinguished piece of feminist literature which may leave your heart clenching – and hand flexing. [Liv Farragher]
