Some of the best student comedians in the midlands compete for a place in the grand final and the chance to be crowned 'Chortle Student Comedian of the Year' Previous winners include Joe Lycett ( Epic Win, BBC One), Lloyd Langford (former Warwick Student and regular panellist on Ask Rhod Gilbert, BBC One) and 2008 runner up Simon Bird (The Inbetweeners, Channel 4).

        Joe is on familiar territory as a former winner of the Chortle student comedy award himself. Since then, along with his stand-up shows at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, he has gone on to be a co-host on Epic Win (BBC One). Aswell as numerous guest appearances on shows such as 8 out of 10 cats (Channel 4) and Chris Addison's Show and Tell (E4).
