Hello from me and someone else,
Every year, there is one last AME email from a President. It marks the end of a chapter, a journey and a very beautiful story, but it is never the end of the relationship I will always hold with Warwick and with you all.
You will always be in my heart and I hope you will remember me in your best wishes.
I am very happy that this last email is not just from me. The “someone else” I mentioned above is your next President, the one and only: Ollie Chapman.
I am so, so happy that Ollie and I were lucky enough to be teammates this year, and that we built the kind of relationship where we can share this email together. I know this is not always common, so I feel very lucky.
This isn’t just my words. Below is a picture of me and Ollie, kindly taken by Martha, as proof. Look how friendly we look, almost like besties.
Before I let Ollie speak, as he is getting quite impatient below, please do not forget to check our summer opening times too.
Now, the moment you have all been waiting for:
Hello everyone!
I’m so excited to say hello to you in my first, and Alijah’s final, AME this year.
I’m just as grateful and honoured as I was on election results night to have the chance to be your SU President next year, and I can’t wait for the new team to start in August.
I hope my AME introductions can live up to Alijah’s, but we all know it’s Martha who does the real work anyway.
Have a great summer and I’ll see you around campus during Welcome Week!
Ollie Chapman
Future SU President
Did you think I would let him close my last email? Not a chance.
I wish you all a very good summer break, and even better years and successes ahead, whether that is at university, in the job market or wherever life takes you next.
Take care of yourselves, and don’t miss me too much.
Farewell. Khuda Hafiz. Au revoir. Adiós. Arrivederci. Auf Wiedersehen. Zàijiàn. Annyeong. Sayōnara. Ayubowan. Viszlát. La revedere. (Yes, I had to Google some of these).
Until we meet again, somewhere, somehow…
President
