Teaching and Learning Review - call for student representatives

Warwick’s Institutional Teaching and Learning Review (ITLR) 2017 will review teaching and learning provision across all academic departments (together with relevant professional services departments) between 16th–27th January 2017, at undergraduate, postgraduate taught, postgraduate research and post-experience levels.

This internal education audit will provide assurance of the quality and standards of courses of study, and provide an opportunity for reflection and advice on how best to enhance the quality of the University’s teaching and learning provision, as well as the distinctiveness of the student experience. Further information can be found here: http://www2.warwick.ac.uk/services/aro/dar/quality/itlr2017/

Each review panel will include a student representative, in addition to an external representative and internal academic representatives. The SU feels that it is really important that students feed into this process, and encourage anyone who is interested to get involved as previous SU contributions have led to the instatement of various initiatives that are beneficial to students! The University is also keen to recruit students who have already engaged with the University beyond their own learning, e.g. by acting as a Student Careers and Skills representative, a representative on a University committee, or a representative on a Student Staff Liaison Committee.

Each review will last between one and three days and will take place on the University campus.  Some reading of a pack of information provided for review panel members will be required (up to half a day), while participation will be recognised by a certificate.

Student representatives will be required to attend training, either on Wednesday 11th January (12:30pm-2pm) or Thursday 12th January (12:30pm-2pm).

Where students have a clash between core teaching activities and review panel meetings, the ITLR team would liaise with their department to identify what support departments could offer.

To express your interest in becoming a student representative on this project, please fill out your details on the sign-up form HERE.
