Following on from the reform of Warwick's Sexual Misconduct procedures, the University has now launched a new online consultation into Discrimination, Harassment and Hate Crime.

Rebecca Freeman, Dean of Students, says:

"The views and information that you provide through this consultation will be crucial for informing the development of the University’s new reporting tools and disciplinary processes for both staff and students. It will help the group of staff and students who are working on these developments to understand barriers to reporting, how the University can offer the best possible support to victims of discrimination, harassment and hate crime relating to the nine protected characteristics as defined in the Equality Act 2010: age, disability, gender reassignment, marriage and civil partnership, pregnancy and maternity, race, religion or belief, sex, and sexual orientation, and ensure appropriate training is rolled out to all those involved in receiving and responding to reports. Your participation is crucial in order for us to build approaches that are strong, trusted and supported."

Tiana Holgate, SU Welfare & Campaigns Officer, says:

"Tackling discrimination, harassment and hate is absolutely crucial to creating the campus community we are all aiming for. Within my role as Welfare & Campaigns Officer in the Students’ Union this area has been a key focus of mine, so it has been great to be a part of the group undertaking this piece of work within the University too. Your feedback will be used to shape how we support our students and staff, reporting tools and the University’s Disciplinary process. This consultation is absolutely vital to ensure we get this right for everybody across the Warwick community, so that we all get a say in the support that we feel is right for us. As a member of the group working on this project, I can assure you that all feedback will be meaningfully and effectively considered as we move forward, and participants will also receive a report of our progress in the future."
