Well, it is what it says on the tin. This colourful indie sci-fi animation follows the titular space princess, Saira, on a quest to rescue Kiki, her ex-girlfriend (of two weeks) who has been kidnapped and held for ransom by evil incel aliens. Still with me? Tongue-in-cheek references and comedy aside, the heart of Lesbian Space Princess is a queer coming-of-age adventure that draws heavily from classic anime and LGBTQ+ pop culture to create a wildly funny and delightfully camp film. It’s sure to be unlike anything else you’ll see on the schedule this term, and if the title didn’t immediately sell you on this one, I don’t know what will. [Cerys Bardsley]
