The final instalment in one of the most joyful, truly hilarious film series of the 21st century, Jackass: Best and Last could not be better made for the group cinema experience! The series’ signature tightrope balance of simultaneously crude and beautiful displays of male friendship is well intact here, and just as strong as it was in 2022’s bittersweet almost finale Jackass Forever. Given the gang’s ageing into their 50s, their final stunts are little more restrained on the pain levels, but are nonetheless outrageously funny, with one particular all-timer game of Twister here. These new stunts mixed with select bits of archival and previously unreleased footage make this a genuinely emotional finale too. If you aren’t wincing aloud or staring slack-jawed at the screen in disbelief at the lengths the gang goes to in order to entertain themselves and us, you may actually find yourself shedding a tear! The gang’s very final stunt ensures they go out with a gloriously grand-scale bang, more ambitious than they’ve ever attempted before.
