Come see Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World presented on stunning 35mm film on the big screen in L3!

In an all-star cast, Michael Cera takes the lead as the awkward yet charming Scott, who falls instantly in love with Ramona Flowers (Mary Elizabeth Winstead). Though trouble soon arises as his band – Sex Bob-Omb – competes in the battle of the band and runs into the first of seven of Ramona’s evil exes. In order to win her heart, Scott must defeat all seven of her evil exes and also his own demons: his insecurity, his past relationships and his seventeen-year-old high-school girlfriend Knives (Ellen Wong).  

The film is a stylish endeavour as Wright masters the comic book aesthetics with aspect ratios mimicking comic panels and the fast, swift whip pans. The editing is sharp and attentive, bringing the graphic novel’s energy alive on the screen. The film is a fast-paced action comedy that never fails to capture the viewer’s engagement. 

The film is hugely entertaining, full of witty dialogue, still quotable to this day and aided by the film’s great supporting cast with names such as Kieran Culkin, Aubrey Plaza and Anna Kendrick.  In addition, the film has an awesome soundtrack with original songs, an upbeat, indie rock soundtrack and Brie Larson’s unforgettable cover of Black Sheep. The fight scenes are choreographed with a love and a passion for old-arcade-style video games, resulting in a unique, visually impressive watch.
