Mental health among the Black student community - A discussion hosted by Oge Obioha co-founder of Minds of People of Colour

Event from SU Campaigns & Communities

Friday 28 October 2022, 3.00PM - Friday 28 October 2022, 5.00PM

Faculty of Arts Building, FAB0.23

This session explores Black identity at University, vulnerability, the strong Black woman trope, as well as how to support your Black friends and peers. The aim is to empower students with the tools to recognise and identify Black trauma, and healthy ways to navigate this through the violence presented during your years in Higher Education.

This event forms part of the Blackness, Imagination, Liberation event series.

Blackness, Imagination, Liberation aims to celebrate Black culture and art but also to give students space to consider the ways that the struggle for Black liberation is ongoing. We’ll be showcasing Warwick’s Black creative talent with events in collaboration with poets, musicians, photographers and more, and provide a forum for engagement with questions of oppression and resistance through talks and discussions with some of the foremost Black activists and thinkers in Britain today.

This campaign has been made possible by the support of alumni and donors through the Warwick Innovation Fund.
