Warwick Student Cinema: Hard Boiled (35mm)

Event from Warwick Student Cinema

Monday 04 May 2026, 7.30PM - Monday 04 May 2026, 9.30PM

L3

Come see Hard Boiled presented on stunning 35mm film on the big screen in L3!

Hard Boiled follows a tough, jazz-loving cop in Hong Kong, Tequila (I promise it’s a very fitting name), who is determined to take down an elusive crime syndicate. As he delves into the underworld, he unexpectedly teams up with a mysterious figure whose loyalties aren’t immediately clear. What unfolds is a high-stakes game of trust and deception as both men navigate danger from all sides while pursuing justice in their own ways. Although you get a beautifully orchestrated ballet of bullets and blood expected of John Woo and this time period, you will also find a level of emotional profundity within its colours, pacing, sound, and dialogue. I’d suggest catching this on the big screen (and on a very rare 35mm print) if you are looking for chicken soup for your action loving inner child’s soul, or if you just really, really, really like Tony Leung Chiu-wai and want to watch him serve moral ambiguity. All good reasons! [Afrin]
