Come see Gladiator presented on 35mm film on the big screen in L3!

I've never been fond of action movies, but this one breaks the mould. Russel Crowe, Joaquin Phoenix and Connie Nielsen give a convincing, emotional performance which I think many more modern action films lack. The story is entirely engaging, made all the more better by being based on the historic Roman gladiators. While the concept of a gladiator is exciting and, on the surface, seems an elevated position in those times, it's shocking to see the cruelty they were subjected to and the reality of what all that inbreeding did to the emperors... This film is more than worth a watch with an iconic soundtrack coupled with some lovely cinematography which I think sets a great tone for the story to be told.  It’s deemed a modern classic for a reason. [Victoria Beaumont]
