Come see Tangerine presented with stunning 4k laser projection on the big screen in L3!
What if Mulholland Drive was bright, in your face, and even more queer? From the block Tinseltown in Los Angeles and Sin-Dee has just been released from prison. After hearing that her pimp of a boyfriend is a cheater, Sin-Dee and her closest friend Alexandra embark on a doughnut-fuelled odyssey to investigate the rumour.
Shot on three iPhone 5s, with such a notable soundtrack and impeccable performances across the board; this is the most fabulously human film ever created. The screenplay is critically acclaimed, and that is prevalent throughout the whole film. Tangerine exposes the rollercoaster of Sin-Dee’s day that you can’t help but hold out hope for her.
With its highest high also comes its lowest lows and there’s not a film like Tangerine. Its moving moments throughout the film are translated so well you can’t help but feel like you’ve become ‘more human’. Tangerine depicts such an interesting trans experience that centres friendship and survival, platforming trans artists through a story of love, humour and hardship explored on their own terms.
